HOW DOES INVISALIGN WORK?

Your journey with Invisalign treatment begins with a visit to your orthodontist. After a thorough examination, your doctor will determine if you are an ideal candidate for Invisalign treatment.

Once you get approved your orthodontist will create custom made Invisalign clear aligners suited to your needs. You also receive instructions on how to put the aligners on and remove them easily. Your orthodontist will also determine a specific time frame to change your Invisalign clear aligners which typically is every two weeks.

Generally, Invisalign treatment lasts six months to a year depending on the individual patient. If you are getting married or have another important reason that you need your treatment done at a quicker pace you can discuss it directly with your orthodontist to see if the treatment process can be completed faster.

BENEFITS OF INVISALIGN

  • Improved self-esteem
  • Minimal food restrictions
  •  Less painful compared to standard braces
  •  Invisibility
  •  Maintaining control of your treatment process
  •  Easy to wear when playing sports
  •  Being under the supervision of a professional

HOW DOES SURESMILE WORK?

SureSmile teeth straightening treatment works very similar to Invisalign. The process begins with a digital impression of your teeth and the treatment planning begins.

Your doctor will analyze your bite and other anatomical factors to determine your customized treatment plan by using Innovative software.

The clear aligners will be custom-made and fit to produce the best results. Your doctor will give you specific instructions on how to use the aligners, when to change them, and how to keep them clean.

BENEFITS OF SURESMILE

  • Boosts self-confidence
  • Ability to eat any type of food
  • Invisible clear aligners
  • Comfortable to wear during sporting events
  • Being under the supervision of a professional throughout the  entire treatment
  • Maintaining control of your treatment process

INVISALIGN VS SURESMILE

Clear aligner treatments provide similar benefits that produce high-quality results. They both are comfortable to wear, virtually invisible and easy to live with on a daily basis.

The clear aligners go unnoticed which allows you the freedom to conduct your life as normal. As your teeth straightening treatment continues you will notice your teeth gradually move into place and create a straighter smile.

During the treatment process, most patients are excited to see the results as their self-confidence gradually gets boosted along the way.

Once treatment is completed your orthodontist will supply you with a retainer to help maintain your beautiful new smile.

As mentioned earlier, living with clear aligners is easier compared to standard metal braces. If you are looking for a way to straighten your teeth without everyone around you noticing then clear aligner teeth straightening treatment is the way to go!

Spread of Coronavirus

The spread of the coronavirus can be transmitted within the dental office setting, exposing both the patients and staff to the virus through inhalation of airborne microorganisms that can remain in the air for long periods as well as with direct contact with blood or oral fluids during and after procedures.

Teledentistry will prove to be one of the most effective means of maintaining dental care and communicating with patients virtually through video conferencing and file sharing during the COVID-19.

Patients who had contact with other people who have traveled to China, Italy, Iran, and other at-risk countries, should be assessed virtually through telemedicine and treated through teledentistry.

According to the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), WHO (World Health Organizations) and other governing bodies, Teledentistry, and dental monitoring will play an instrumental role in minimizing the transmission of the Coronavirus.

Dr. Jacquie Smiles and her team of orthodontists are here to help you achieve your best smile with remote and long-distance dental care monitoring.

ADA recommends dentists to postpone appointments to COVID-19

As of March 16th, 2020, The ADA (American Dental Association) is recommending that dentists nationwide postpone elective procedures in response to the spread of the coronavirus disease, COVID-19, across the country.

“The American Dental Association recognizes the unprecedented and extraordinary circumstances dentists and all health care professionals face related to growing concern about COVID-19,” according to the March 16 statement from ADA President Chad P. Gehani.

“The ADA is deeply concerned about the health and well-being of the public and the dental team. In order for dentistry to do its part to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, the ADA recommends dentists nationwide postpone elective procedures for the next three weeks. Concentrating on emergency dental care will allow us to care for our emergency patients and alleviate the burden that dental emergencies would place on hospital emergency departments.”

Here at Dr. Jacquie Smiles, there is nothing more important to us than the safety & well-being of our patients and team. With that in mind, we wanted to give you clear guidance as to what we are doing as a practice.

All of our patients with scheduled appointments through & including April 3rd are canceled until further notice.

We have been closely monitoring every development with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). The COVID-19 situation in New York is one of the most serious in the nation so far. We are compelled to take action and make sensible & safe decisions for the benefit of our patients, team, and public.

At this time, it has been recommended by the ADA (American Dental Association) that we provide only emergency dental and orthodontic care.

The phones will be fielded by our team remotely. Keeping in mind that team & patient safety is our first priority, we ask that if you believe you are experiencing a dental or orthodontic emergency and are experiencing flu-like symptoms, a cold, cough, fever or respiratory issues, please do not enter the office.

Additionally, we ask that any patients that have traveled internationally, wait 14 days until after they return to schedule any appointments. Our team will be screening all patients entering the office.

We ask that all patients entering our office thoroughly wash their hands.

“As health care professionals, it is up to dentists to make well-informed decisions about their patients and practices.  The ADA is committed to providing the latest information to the profession in a useful and timely manner.

The ADA is continually evaluating and will update its recommendation on an ongoing basis as new information becomes available. Please visit ADA.org/virus for the latest information. If you have questions that are not answered by the FAQ posted at ADA.org/virus.
